romantic all of the sudden?

so my best friend is away at school like me shes engaged to her boyfriend of 6months he off like across the counrty but she still makes time fo him! anywho when they 1st started seeing eachother he was really romantic then we went of to school and hes not so romantic at all anymore the talk on line and on the phone on weekends or breaks off from work ect.. well her cell broke last week and she dosent have money until next week to get a new one she emailed him and told him that he said it was fine and that would find time for eachother but lately hes been really romantic out of no where sending her romantic messages and flowers why all of the sudden is he acting like this? know he really cant wait till they get married next june and even helped her pick out the date is there a reason for this? is there any reason he is acting so werid?
